News about current research and garden projects

At the United States Archives II in March 2009 I took notes on original documents of the negotiations between the U.S. and France in 1800 that led to the Convention of Mortefontaine.

See description of my research on the treaty.

This spring's big garden project: I sliced off a part of my front flower bed to better incorporate an existing dogwood into a shade garden that will go between the raised bed and the tree.

Below, after the stonemason finished the new stone wall, I laid a flow of flat rock that will transition to the gravel in the driveway.
